01 - 4 slices rustic or sourdough bread
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
03 - 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced

04 - 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
05 - 8 to 10 fresh basil leaves
06 - Salt and black pepper to taste
# Directions:
01 - Lay out bread slices and evenly spread softened butter on one side of each slice.
02 - Place two buttered bread slices on a clean surface with buttered side down. Layer mozzarella slices evenly over bread, followed by tomato slices and basil leaves. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
03 - Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up, creating a sealed sandwich.
